Monochromatic
For the library room of the Sexie family home I chose a monochromatic blue color scheme. Darker blues are found in the chairs, end tables, and smaller shelves. The larger shelves, rug, pillows, and chairs that are farther back in the room consist of lighter hues. The different blues make the room a relaxing and peaceful place to read.
Analogous
The movie theater room has an analogous color scheme. For this room I used orange, yellow, and red. These colors are like the ones found in a movie theater to give the room an authentic feel. The warmth of the colors also make the room more inviting. The decor also consists of movie theater concessions and artwork of Audrey Hepburn.
Complementary
This room is a bedroom for Elma. She is ten and likes fashion and dance, which is why I picked a more playful design and artwork of dance and dresses. I picked complementary colors of blue and orange to make the room more exciting for someone younger, but at the same time keep the room fashion forward to fit her personality.
Triadic
This room is for the youngest Sexie son, Roland. I like the triadic colors of blue, green, and orange to make the room very colorful and interesting. Roland loves animals which is why I incorporated pieces of art with different animals. The bright colors and playful animal pieces create a room that fits his young animal loving personality.
